Jayson Tatum realizes the severity of COVID-19

The Boston Celtics were one of the few teams to have an announced positive test of coronavirus. Of course, as we’ve learned, that test belonged to none other than Marcus Smart. Since being announced as positive, Smart has tested negative for COVID-19. Still, the severity of the virus can’t be lost on anyone…and it certainly wasn’t lost on Jayson Tatum.

In speaking about taking the test, Tatum definitely didn’t illustrate a great picture of what it is like to be nose-swabbed:

"“The test they do definitely hurt and was uncomfortable, and I wouldn’t want to go through it again,” Tatum told Yahoo Sports. “The fact that Marcus tested positive is a wakeup call to everyone how serious this disease is.”"

No kidding. If an extremely wealthy and seemingly well-protected man like Smart can contract this virus–in addition to other stars like Kevin Durant, Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell–no one is safe.

We all need to spend quality time at home with family or loved ones to stop the spread of this virus, just like Tatum has:

"“This has really just been a blessing to spend this much time with my son and see him every day. We’re just all trying to stay positive and take it day by day,” Tatum told Yahoo Sports."

Heed his words friends. Including those about staying positive amidst this uncertainty.
