The Boston Celtics had a fantastic 2019-20 regular season, but could have certainly benefited had they still rostered these three former C’s.

Prior to March 11th hiatus, the Boston Celtics were in the midst of a very successful 2019-20 campaign. Through 64 outings the team accumulated a record of 43-21.

With these numbers, the shamrocks found themselves in the third seed in the Eastern Conference, the fifth best record in the entire association and, attained their sixth consecutive postseason berth — second most since the 2000-01 season.

Boston also saw two of their players represent the franchise in this past February’s All-Star game; for newcomer Kemba Walker it was his fourth consecutive appearance, for Jayson Tatum it was his first.

They boasted one of the most formidable unites in the association with Walker, Jaylen Brown, Tatum, Gordon Hayward and Daniel Theis filling out the starting five while suspected Defensive Player of the Year candidate Marcus Smart was coming off the pine as the team’s hand sixth-man.

After an offseason seemingly filled with such turmoil and roster shakeups, how well the team performed this year was a bit shocking. Don’t get us wrong, many expect the Celtics to still be in the running for a playoff appearance, winding up as a top-5 team in numerous power-rankings (prior to the league’s COVID-19 induced suspension.) wasn’t something everyone was imagining.

Still, even with all these highs that came in 2019-20, it cannot be stated whole heartedly that they were a perfect team. There were many areas of concern that resided on the C’s roster this campaign, some of which could have been filled or bolstered had they still employed a few of their former players.

With this in mind, here are three former Celtics that could have helpful to have still had in tow this year, and the reasons for why.
