DeMarre Carroll, SF

After devoting an entire slide to a defensive oriented, capable floor spacing wing we discuss yet another defensive oriented, floor spacing wing… just one with a bit more experience under his belt.

DeMarre Carroll is a wing who excels on both ends of the floor. For the entirety of his career, Carroll has been used as a primary 3-and-D role player who doesn’t need the ball in his hands to make an impact.

On offense, the 11-year veteran averages 8.9 points on 36 percent shooting from downtown. He would certainly provide some much needed perimeter scoring to the C’s second unit (bench ranks 27th in 3-point percentage).

Defensively, at 6-8, 215 pounds, Carroll has the stature and tools that make him more than capable of covering seemingly every position on the court. His strength has allowed him to hold his own when defending in the post while his surprisingly quick footwork allows him to keep up with the flashier ballers roaming on the perimeter.

No, Carroll may not be the biggest name on the open market, but could certainly prove to be a vital veteran presence on a Boston Celtics team who’s average age hovers around 25 years old.

He reportedly took D’Angelo Russell under his wing in the summer of 2018 and, that next year, the point guard wound up being an All-Star and an essential team leader for the Cinderella Story Brooklyn Nets. Perhaps he could do the same with the young bunch of ballers the C’s have on their roster.
