Ranking the Boston Celtics among the top teams to play as in NBA 2K
With real sports still weeks–if not months–away, e-sports are rising to the forefront of the calendar. In honor of the NBA’s “Player’s-Only” tournament being announced, here are the Houdini’s top NBA 2K teams and where the Boston Celtics stack up.
Boston Celtics–and NBA basketball in general–is a long ways away. To attempt to scratch that itch for its 30 hungry fan-bases, the NBA is putting on an NBA 2K tournament with 16 NBA favorites set to take it to the hardwood digitally on ESPN starting this Friday.
Unfortunately, no member of the Celtics will be present. Nope, not even noted competitive gamer Gordon Hayward. Although he would more likely participate in a League of Legends tournament than take it to the virtual hardwood.
We don’t know what game mode will be used for the tournament. We do know who will be participating, however, courtesy of The Boardroom’s Twitter:
If it’s an NBA Blacktop tournament, well, I don’t know how they will be stretching out this content. What would make more sense–the Houdini thinks–is for each player to choose the team they currently represent (or in DeMarcus Cousins‘ case most recently represented) in a 20-24 minute game (depending on if there are five or six minute quarters).
Regardless of the format, we figured it’d be a good time to rank the Boston Celtics among the top teams to play as in NBA 2K, given that the e-sport simulation will now be center stage this Friday when the league would normally be televised:
