Boston Celtics: 2 trades C’s could make with 2020 first round picks

Luke Kennard, SG
Luke Kennard is a player I personally have been high on since he entered the league back in 2017. Is he a future star in this league? Probably not. However, he can be an incredible asset to have for a championship contender who thrives off the pine, and has no problem filling in as a starter.
At this year’s deadline, it appeared Kennard was on of the most popular players teams contacted the Detroit Pistons about, and rightly so.
Through 28 games in 2019-20, the shooting guard was putting up career highs all across the board, averaging 15.8 points, 4.1 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game on 44 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent shooting from 3.
The third year pro is a fantastic scoring guard who would do wonders for the C’s second unit that undoubtedly struggles on that side of the ball — 29th in the league in points per game, 27th in 3-point percentage and 22nd in overall offensive rating.
Offering Detroit multiple picks should be enticing enough for the team to entertain the idea of dealing the 6-5 wing to the Boston Celtics. Plus, with Kennard still on his rookie contract, making the numbers work in a deal would not be a hard task to do, for this would be mainly to stock up on draft selections for the seemingly rebuilding Pistons.
Envisioning Motor City doing a deal like this is by no means difficult. They traded Andre Drummond for Brandon Knight, John Henson and a full stack of toilet paper (a 2023 second-round pick).
Running alongside Marcus Smart in the second unit, Boston’s bench would have a stellar good cop, bad cop/ offensive, defensive punch that is sorely missing with their current lineup.
