Another day, another way of figuring out how to potentially help bolster the roster of the Boston Celtics. For this piece, we will analyze the fit of two specific players currently on the open market.

The 2019-20 regular season is in the midst of it’s final stretch-run and the Boston Celtics find themselves in the upper echelon of the league’s power rankings.

Currently, the team sits firmly at the number three seed in the Eastern Conference with a record of 41-18. They hold the fourth best record in the entire association and are one of the hottest squads in the league since their return to action post All-Star break.

Thanks in large to the strong showings by first time All-Star Jayson Tatum (34 points, 8.8 boards on 51 percent shooting post ASW) the C’s have managed to stay afloat (3-2) without franchise point guard Kemba Walker (knee ailment) and has the team right on the heels of the second-seeded Toronto Raptors.

Of all the team’s residing in the Eastern Conference, Boston appears to have the best chance (at least, in our eyes) of beating the league’s best record-holder Milwaukee Bucks in a seven-game series. Be it based off the team’s two outings this season or just comparing the fire power residing on both rosters (Milwaukee has the better player, but Boston packs more of a punch with their top-heavy talent), one thing is for sure: a series between these two would be far from a walk in the park for either franchise.

However, even with this, the Celtics are by no means a perfectly constructed team. One of their most glaring issues: their second unit. If the team wishes to better position themselves for a deep postseason run this year, they should strongly consider bolstering their bench.

Sure, trade season is over, but the buyout market consists of some solid players that could benefit the C’s coming off the pine if Danny Ainge opted to go this route. With this in mind, here are two more — we’ve covered some options already — options the Boston Celtics could sign off the open market.
