The Boston Celtics have found quite a bit of success thus far into 2019-20 but have had trouble finding consistent production off the pine. Who could they look to on the buyout market to help bolster the second unit and, more importantly, who could they replace.

Danny Ainge saw holes in the makeup of this 2019-20 Boston Celtics roster when he commented wanting to improve the edges of his rotation. He made it clear where the very few weak-points of this Celtics roster were…at the end of the bench.

"“…we’re going to look to see if there’s ways to strengthen the end our bench, but I think we like all of our guys.”"

The trade deadline has come and gone, and there wasn’t a single deal made by the C’s front office. Clearly, he liked all 15 of his men (and two-way Tacko Fall and Tremont Waters) enough not to shake anything up in a deal.

But he was active. The Boston Celtics were mentioned in rumors with Clint Capela and Andre Drummond as trade targets. Though ultimately, no deal came to pass, Ainge was clearly window shopping for potential roster upgrades.

And why stop there? Just because he didn’t find a deal worth exploring doesn’t mean there aren’t outlets to improve anymore. Their bench ranks 20th in the NBA in offensive rating. Just because the team is winning, doesn’t mean there aren’t issues to address.

This roster isn’t perfect. If it were, there wouldn’t be doubts heading into potential playoff series’ against the Milwaukee Bucks or Toronto Raptors.

Here are three players the Boston Celtics can replace with buyout market options:
