Boston Celtics: 3 goals for the team post All-Star break
By Mark Nilon
Keep up this consistency
To some this may seem like a simple grab; low hanging fruit if you will. However, this goal is both arguably the most important as well as the easiest to let slip away.
For the most part of the 2019-20 season, the Boston Celtics have remained consistent. Three times they have accumulated a win-streak of five or more games and have managed to end each month with more wins than losses.
As mentioned in the previous slide, the Celtics are coming into the All-Star break as winners of 10 of their previous 12 outings. During this stretch they have managed to overcome the likes of the Miami Heat, the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers.
For their final 28 games remaining on the schedule, 18 of them will be against teams that are either playoff locks are team’s with legitimate shots of reaching the league’s second season, thus insinuating competitive outings will be a dime a dozen from now until April.
Yes, we mentioned the fact that the team has managed to be consistent throughout the majority of this season so far, but there have been times in which they have stalled. Specifically, after winning eight of nine games from late December to early January, the team followed up this great stretch with losing six of the next eight, two of which came against the lowly Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons.
With the competition that’s to come post All-Star weekend, one of the biggest goals the Celtics should have for the final stretch should be to stay consistent and keep this momentum going as they look to make the postseason for the sixth consecutive year.
