Isaiah Thomas

Back like we never left…..

Make no mistake about it folks, we included Isaiah Thomas on this list because it would be a feel good story for the ages, but he would also without a doubt be a huge boost for the Boston Celtics off the bench in 2020.

During his time spent with the Washington Wizards, Thomas was putting up fine averages of 12.2 points and 3.7 assists on a career high 41 percent shooting from 3 in 23 minutes of play. For a team like Boston, these numbers would be welcomed with open arms coming off the bench.

Add in the fact that we know how well he works in a Brad Stevens-led offense — 24.7 points & six assists on 37 percent shooting from 3 for his career in Boston — and you find that Thomas is a no-brainer addition to the team if signed to a minimum contract. I’m not saying he will replicate these averages, far from it,  but his success within the offense must be noted.

As we all probably know, IT was just traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in a 3-team exchange that also notched them Marcus Morris. Shortly after the trade went down, reports surfaced that LA has little interest in keeping him on the roster, and will likely buy him out.

If this actually turns out to be the case, the Celtics, whether you believe they need another point guard or not, would be foolish to not look into the possibility of reuniting with their former franchise point guard.

Please Danny Ainge, make it happen!!
