The Boston Celtics enter trade deadline day with plenty of opportunities to make a deal. Which teams rank as the best trading partners?
It is here Boston Celtics fans, basketball fans and whatever other subcategory of human beings is reading Hardwood Houdini on the NBA’s second most hectic day (#1 being day one of free agency)…the NBA trade deadline.
It is today that players will be receiving word that they will need to find a new place to live and hop on the next flight to whatever city his their new teams are playing in. In actuality, it is a very tough day for many players.
But damn is it not fun for the rest of us. NBA 2K rosters are updated, depth charts are changed and the title chase is given a face-lift. This deadline could see contenders add the supposed “missing piece” while other teams could be gearing up for a rebuilds via an old-fashioned sell-off.
Luckily, if you are on this site, you most likely are a fan of a top franchise in the Boston Celtics. They will be looking for the latter: one (or several) major piece to put them over the top in a loaded Eastern Conference.
You see, this isn’t the east of yesteryear. LeBron James doesn’t hold a monopoly over the throne. The Toronto Raptors could repeat as east champs just as easily as the Milwaukee Bucks could finally break through.
The Boston Celtics are right there with both squads. That’s what makes today exciting…especially since they have more assets than last year’s Eastern Conference Finals matchup, the Miami Heat, the Indiana Pacers and the Philadelphia 76ers (who you have to squint to see way down there in the standings).
