E’Twaun Moore
E’Twaun Moore may not be a household name, but he can certainly help a title contender off the pine — especially the Boston Celtics.
One of the main focuses Danny Ainge has this Trade deadline is bolstering his bench. Being that the unit currently ranks third in the association in defensive efficiency I’m guessing he doesn’t mean to add many players who mainly excel on that side of the ball.
Currently, the C’s bench ranks 18th in the league in offensive efficiency and average a clip of only 30.2 percent shooting from 3 (28th). Moore could certainly help in both areas.
The nine year veteran has made a career for himself as being a long range sharpshooter, shooting at a clip of 39 percent from downtown. Now, in his fourth season with the New Orleans Pelicans, Moore is boasting solid averages of 9.9 points and 2.6 boards on 37 percent shooting from deep.
According to Bleacher Report’s Preston Ellis, E’Twaun Moore is seemingly one of the least talked about efficient scorers the association has to offer.
"With a steady array of old-school actions in his game, E’Twaun Moore can get a bucket against anyone and does it with remarkable efficiency. Casual observers identify Moore as a threat from the perimeter—and for a good reason. Since shooting 40.3 percent from the corner in 2017-18 (61st percentile), Moore’s focus has shifted to above-the-break threes. This year, he’s hitting 43.6 percent of them when playing small forward (99th percentile), which further spreads out defenses."
It’s as simple as this: the Boston Celtics could use a boost off the bench in terms of long-range scoring, and E’Twaun Moore, with his expiring $8.6 million contract, might be worth renting as they gear up for a potentially deep postseason run.
