1. Davis Bertans

Davis Bertans has been, and continues to be, the most logical trade target for the Boston Celtics. Luckily, the interest from Boston’s brass indicates that thinking is shared.

Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix believes that Bertans is the anecdote to a poor second unit that has problems shooting the basketball. As part of a lengthy trade deadline piece, he went into detail as to how much Bertans makes sense in Boston:

"There is strong interest in Boston in Davis Bertans, who would fill a couple of needs. Bertans could join the frontcourt rotation and juice what has been a brutally bad shooting bench. The Celtics second unit is 28 in three-point shooting, per NBA.com, sandwiched between Minnesota and Cleveland. For a team that makes a living beyond the three-point line … that’s bad."

While he is a good fit, Mannix sees a chess match unfolding that could see the Celtics give in at the negotiating table:

"Washington has effectively hung up on teams looking to extract Bertans, but Boston could make things interesting if they throw a pick or two into the pot. Because really … what are they holding on to them for?"

If Ainge is giving up draft picks, this is the most logical deal. Falling short of Minnesota giving teams a chance to land Towns, Bertans is the most likely target to end up in a Boston Celtics uniform by Thursday afternoon.
