The Boston Celtics are one of the team’s in the sweepstakes for the Houston Rockets’ prized big man Clint Capela. Here are 3 players who should be off the table in trade talks.

The long-awaited answer to the question of what big name player will fill the Boston Celtics big man void could be coming in the form of Clint Capela. While never an All-Star, Capela is the kind of headline name that would vault the C’s into a new stratosphere of contention.

His rim-running ways as an alley-oop finisher and shot-blocker has Celtics fans thinking he is the missing piece. And he just might be.

But there is a price to pay for the Houston Rockets center, and if it is too high, Danny Ainge should not be afraid to pull all of his chips off the table and roll with what he already has.

At 34-15, the Boston Celtics don’t necessarily need a trade to put them over the top. They have a core of four players scoring over 16 points per game and have a second unit that features players that would be starters elsewhere in Marcus Smart and Enes Kanter.

Currently occupying the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference, the consensus belief is that the team needs a presence in the middle to combat the interior play of guys like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid and even first-time All-Star Domantas Sabonis.
