Alec Burks

Another under-the-radar name who could pack a huge punch for this Boston Celtics team, Alec Burks has been a stellar contributor for the Golden State Warriors so far in 2019-20. Through 46 outings, the nine-year veteran has put up fantastic averages of 15.8 points, 4.8 boards, 3.2 assists and one steal a game while shooting 36 percent from 3.

Most recently, we saw the guard drop 18 points and collect four rebounds against the Celtics on 50 percent shooting from both downtown and from the field as a whole. It’s as simple as this: Boston could use offensive firepower and backcourt help off the bench, and Burks could check off both those boxes.

Currently, the Celtics rank 28th in the league in both bench points per game (28.8) & bench 3-point percentage (30.1) and are just a middle of the pack long range shooting team as a whole, as they rank 15th in the league, shooting 35.7 percent.

Alec Burks in green & white would be a low cost, high reward situation for Boston. On a minimum salary one year contract, it would not take much for Danny Ainge to make the numbers work in a package. Sending Ojeleye and two second round draft picks San Fran’s way could be enough to bring the lengthy guard (6-6) to Massachusetts.
