As much as it has seemed unreal in recent days, it is an unfortunate reality we now live in a world where Kobe Bryant is no longer living. His spirit will persevere, however, and here are 3 ways the Boston Celtics can help keep the “Mamba Mentality” alive.

Just last week Hardwood Houdini posted an article about three WNBA players that can help the Boston Celtics. The inspiration for the story was the words of Kobe Bryant. He was championing women’s rights and equality because of his love for his daughter Gianna–a bright young prospect who was set to do great things in her basketball career–and his genuine belief that gender isn’t a factor on whether or not someone can hoop.

As we know, this past Sunday morning, a helicopter crash took Bryant, his daughter, and seven other people away from us. It felt surreal. Just a day after LeBron James passed Bryant on the all-time scoring list, Bryant passed away at the age of 41.

Everyone has commented on his untimely death. Several HH staff writers have taken to task honoring Bryant from a Boston Celtics perspective. That said, it is going to take a very long time, maybe forever, for the basketball world to accept what happened on the morning of January 26th.

The number one way to honor him–as I’m sure you have heard since his death–is living with the “Mamba Mentality” that made him such a revered icon in the sports world.
