With three more games left in the preseason, Brad Stevens needs to find a way to get Tacko Fall more minutes if Boston Celtics fans wish to see him make the final 15-man roster.

With the amount of youth that the Boston Celtics posses on their roster, the preseason should be seen as a time to give these inexperienced players a chance to prove their worth against other NBA talents/ hopefuls. While the team’s core needs minutes to get warmed up heading into the regular season, when it comes to guys like Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Gordon Hayward, logging loads of preseason action really has no true benefit, as we already know what their roles will be come October 23rd.

Because of this, Carsen Edwards, Romeo Langford and Grant Williams are just a few examples of players that should be given a sizable amount of minutes as the preseason progresses, so Head Coach Brad Stevens can get a better look at what he has in regard to this year’s draft crop. However, quite possibly the player that should be given the most on court action from Boston’s rookie group is the one who went undrafted this past June.

That man — Tacko Fall.

Fall is arguably this year’s most tantalizing rookie prospect. The 23-year-old Senegalese native is a 7-5, 310-pound raw big-man looking to make his way onto the team’s final 15-man roster, as well as being one of the tallest players to ever play in the NBA.

Unlike Edwards, Langford and Williams, Fall is by no means viewed as “a lock” to make the Boston Celtics’ regular season roster. With his Exhibit 10 contract, the center is under a non-guaranteed deal worth the minimum salary, which can be converted to a two-way contract prior to the start of the regular season.

The decision to ink the UCF product to a two-way deal will be significantly impacted by his performance during the next few preseason contests. A supergiant like Fall does not come around often and, with the team’s lacking talent at the center position, they could find his services to be of some use.

If he wishes to make his NBA dream become a reality, coach Stevens needs to give him as much playing time as possible. Though he may have caught the love and adoration of Boston Celtics fans — as he often does — in the team’s preseason debut against the Charlotte Hornets, Fall barely saw any playing time.

In eight minutes of action, the center accumulated a stat-line of five points, three boards and two blocks. All things considered, in such limited action, Fall’s counting stats were actually pretty solid. However, a man fighting for his career needs more than a messily eight minutes in garbage time action.

Next. Kemba Walker already proving to be a free agency draw. dark

Moving forward, Brad Stevens needs to find ways to get Tacko Fall more playing time in order to showcase what he can potentially bring to the team. Celtics fans are hoping, nay, praying that Danny Ainge opts to bring Fall on to the team’s 2019-20 roster. His chances of making the final cut can only be boosted by an increase in minutes throughout the duration of the preseason.

Lets hope this uptick in on-court action starts tonight against the Orlando Magic — tip-off is at 7 PM (ET).

As always, go Celtics!
