Enes Kanter–as he often does–made headlines when he said that he was excited to play alongside Tacko Fall. Whether that means in preseason scrimmages or legitimate NBA action, the question remains: can the duo realistically co-exist on the floor together for the Boston Celtics?

Newly acquired Boston Celtics center, Enes Kanter, is a man of many words. Whether it has been going after opponents or hyping up his own running mates, Kanter is never one to shy away from voicing his opinions.

He recently gushed to Jarred Weiss of the Athletic about playing with incoming rookie Tacko Fall. Now, keep in mind, Fall is not a shoe-in to make the Boston Celtics roster for the 2019-20 season. He is signed to a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 deal. The thing is, Kanter isn’t the first person from the Celtics organization to praise the un-drafted wunderkind out of UCF. Coach Brad Stevens (some would say an important figurehead in Boston) had nothing but kind words and encouragement for the 7-6 Fall.

"“You know what I love about Tacko is he’s got the whole place buzzing and it doesn’t affect who he is. He’s got a wonderful humility about him. He has what seems to me to be a real self-assuredness.”“He dunks and lands on his feet and he’s still hanging on the rim and everybody’s talking about it. My daughter and son are watching the games to watch him. But I admire all the things about him not only on the court but off the court.”"

Kanter sounds jacked to the gills to be playing with Fall, but both international big men are best suited for the center position. Both are fairly un-athletic but have the strength (or in Fall’s case extraordinary size) to handle themselves on the offensive end. Kanter has earned himself a reputation for being a defensive turnstile, and Fall just doesn’t have the mobility to cover guys like Karl-Anthony Towns or Nikola Jokic out to the 3-point line.

Kanter is working on his outside shot himself, however. If he can become a steady threat from deep, that could open up the possibility of playing minutes alongside another traditional big man. Against super-sized front courts like the Philadelphia 76ers and the Detroit Pistons, a floor-stretching Kanter could make sense at the four-spot.

The question then becomes, can Fall make his way onto the final 15 man roster. At the very least, we know that he has several key supporters in the shape of the Boston Celtics’ head coach as well as the team’s projected starting center, Kanter.

"“He’s good, man, and I love him. His personality is amazing, real good character. He’s a hard worker. I’m definitely really excited to play with him.”"

Clearly there is excitement in the 27-year-old to have Fall make the team. Assuming his improvements with his outside shot continue, perhaps it isn’t so far fetched for Enes Kanter and Tacko Fall to share the floor.

That being said, it’s up to the Senegal giant to prove he’s a talent worth keeping on the main roster for the Boston Celtics.
