Boston Celtics schedule analysis and other takeaways for 2019-20
By Isaac Moore
April
Playoff teams = 6
Non-playoff teams = 2
Total games = 8
The six home games are all against playoff competition: Portland, Minnesota, Miami, Orlando, Milwaukee, Indiana. However, a Celtics team hot and on a win streak may be able to win most of, if not all these games at home.
Winning the games against Indiana, Milwaukee and Miami could be especially important due to playoff seeding. Perhaps the team ends up trying to manipulate the schedule the way the Denver Nuggets did this past year and end up “losing” a few down the stretch for a more favorable playoff matchup.
After the home stretch, Boston goes on their last road trip to play Orlando, Miami and Detroit. Then, they finally return home for one game to finish out the year vs Chicago.
Regardless of how many of the last fifteen games the team will win, it should be acknowledged that the team has a real chance to get hot going into the postseason, in what looks to be a tight finish between several Eastern Conference teams including Miami, Indiana, Brooklyn, and Toronto.
There are some highs and lows as there are every year, but overall it looks like the Celtics received a pretty cushy schedule.
