October

Playoff teams = 3

Non-playoff teams = 1

Total games = 4

The Celtics open up with another chapter in everyone’s favorite rivalry. Philadelphia will host Boston in their home opener on October 23rd, giving both teams a chance to show off their new pieces and land the first blow.

On a slightly more depressing note, this gives Celtics fans their first chance to see Al Horford in a Sixers uniform. Every game against the Sixers has heavy playoff implications, as they are one of the two favorites, alongside the Bucks, that are expected to compete for a championship.

Just like last year, the season opens up playing Philly, Toronto, and New York. Not to mention the fourth game against the Bucks. There is a lot of 1-3 or 2-2 potential in the opening weeks of the season.

Toronto will be on their championship high, as well as already being a formidable playoff team. Sixers vs Celtics is always a compelling rivalry and this time Philadelphia appears to have the upper hand. Milwaukee is just as strong and well put together as they were last year despite losing Malcolm Brogdon.

Make sure to limit your expectations early on, cause it only goes downhill from here.
