Jaylen Brown was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 2016.  Quickly climbing the ladder into a starting role, Jaylen Brown is on the threshold of becoming a superstar in the NBA, right before our eyes.

In 2017, Brown rose to the occasion and was a key component in leading the Boston Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals. Taking another powerful step forward in his career last season, Brown is poised to be a lead factor in this upcoming season for the Celtics.

The game of basketball is easily articulated by Brown, as he has progressed in the right direction during his three years as a professional.  If the Boston Celtics can get Brown to be more of the player he was in 2017 (confident, strong, determined, and willing) he is going to become that X-factor the Celtics need.  His world-class athletic abilities are what are going to help him thrive in the NBA.

With the addition of Kemba Walker facilitating the offense, Brown will have the green-light on what he wants to do from the shooting guard position.  As part of the Boston Celtics core moving he is looking to become more of a spot on shooter from behind the arc. Adding that ability to his arsenal can be a tremendous advantage for the Boston Celtics.

I foresee Brown having an All-Star caliber season.  I see him averaging: 18 points, two assists and five rebounds on 47% shooting. He’s going to be in more catch-and-shoot types of situations this season, similar to Klay Thompson.  Being the fastest guy on the court, Brown will also provide breakneck athleticism flying to the rim for dunks as he always has. This could be Brown’s best defensive season yet, as last season we saw glimpses of Brown’s ability to provide defensive pressure in both one-one-one and help situations.

Being well-respected throughout the league, Brown was voted as a Vice-President of the NBPA, making him the youngest player on the board of committees.  Coach Stevens thinks it’s remarkable he was able to earn a “high ranking position” so early in his career.  It truly goes to show you how much of an impact Brown is destined to make in this league.

Through his journey at NASA and now with MIT, I have come to determine that Jaylen Brown is one of the smartest professional athletes in the world, and it’s impressive to see what he has done with his platform as a professional.  As much as he is chasing an NBA championship with the Boston Celtics, he is also working hard to change the world, and make this planet a better place.
