2 Stars Winner – Jaylen Brown

Only the closest of Jaylen Brown followers know where the term ‘FCHWPO’ stems from. The acronym stands for Faith Consistency Hard Work Pays Off, and it is the motto of which Brown lives by. Just a fun fact for those that might not know. Anyway, I digress.

The high flyer out of Berkeley had himself a night against the Cavs, going 8-12 from the field (2-3 from 3) for 23 points, 15 of which came in the 2nd half alone. Brown really kept the group playing at a high-level tonight, particularly in the final 24 minutes by relentlessly attacking the basket and forcing the issue inside.

Brown has really elevated his game as of late, and it is starting to pay off. He is shooting 40.6 percent from three in his last 10 games (up from 31% on the season) and 43% from behind the arc in the month of January. Most importantly, he is attacking the rim and being the aggressor his team needs him to be, versus settling for contested corner threes in catch and shoot situations.

It is encouraging to see Jaylen step up in a situation like tonight with key contributors sidelined. He has the talent to take over basketball games, but he just needs to continue to develop his skill set to maximize the impact provided to the team as a whole.

Tonight was a good night for Juice, and I have to tip my hat to the guy for a job well done.
