The Boston Celtics earned their 30th win of the season Wednesday night with a dominating victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. With the rout Boston extends their winning streak to 5 games. Let’s take a look at three individuals who made key contributions in the victory.

What was predicted to be an easy victory for the Boston Celtics was made significantly more challenging with the news that both Al Horford (rest) and Kyrie Irving (flu) would miss their match-up with the Cavaliers. With two key players out, others had to step up to get the job done.

Boston’s bench made an impact in the match-up, scoring 60 points as a unit. The largest lead ballooned all the way up to 23 points, as the group dominated inside with 64 points in the paint.

The C’s got off to a slow start, allowing Cleveland to hang around early. The Cavs took the lead 39-38 on a Rodney Hood three-pointer with just under 8 minutes to go before halftime. Boston responded with a 27-11 run to close the half out, taking a 15 point lead into the break.

The Celtics continued to roll in the final two frames by playing suffocating defense and pounding the paint. The Celtics ultimately won in convincing fashion, 123-103.
