1 Star Award – Marcus Morris

As always, this was the toughest award to hand out tonight. There are a few notable performances that should not go unnoticed, starting with Jayson Tatum. The 20-year-old finished the contest with 17 points on an efficient 8-13 shooting, and also added 5 rebounds and an impressive +25 in the box score. Marcus Smart may not have had the points (6) to garnish an award this evening, but he did all he could on the defensive end in guarding the always explosive Dion Waiters. He also chipped in 4 assists and knocked down a pair of three’s.

Despite these impressive showings, Marcus Morris emerged as the C’s third best player tonight against the Heat. Mook only took 11 shots but would connect on 6 for 17 points. He added 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and was 2nd on the team in plus/minus with a +25 on the night.

Morris would also receive the honor of collecting a special souvenir after the game.

With Dwyane Wade’s farewell tour in full effect, it’s pretty cool to see Mook get the opportunity to exchange jerseys with the legend.

Boston plays Miami twice more on the season, so it will be interesting to see who gets Wade’s jersey next.
