Boston Celtics vs Memphis Grizzlies: Three Stars of the Night
3 Stars Champion- Kyrie Irving
For Kyrie Irving, this is his 2nd consecutive 3 stars champion award. Where do I even begin? Uncle drew followed up a 27 point, 18 assist performance against the Toronto Raptors with an even more impressive show tonight against Memphis. The superstar dropped a game-high 38 points on 14 of 21 shooting and added 11 assists to go along with 7 rebounds.
Once again, Kyrie does it all in willing his team to victory. After building a lead as large as 16, they found themselves trailing at the half. The C’s looked completely lackadaisical and uninterested in the game at hand. Then the ankletaker took over. Irving was in his bag in the 3rd period, dropping 20 of the team’s 38 points in the frame to put Boston back on track for the win.
Check out his epic 3rd quarter in the video below.
Irving has now put together consecutive double-digit assist nights, as the 26-year-old continues to do it all for his team. His ability to get any shot he wants at will, coupled with a unique talent for creating quality looks for his teammates makes the All-Star guard a threat every moment he’s on the hardwood. Once again, well done Mr. Irving on yet another much deserved 3-stars champion award.
Kyrie and the Celtics will look to continue their winning streak when they take on the Atlanta Hawks tomorrow night in Atlanta. Stay tuned to find out who will make the 3 stars list next time here at Hardwood Houdini!
