1 Star Winner- Aron Baynes
Welcome to the 3-star club, Aron Baynes! This winner might come as a surprise to some, but the big man deserves the credit after a gutsy performance Friday night. The big man out of Australia finished with 6 points, 12 boards (7 offensive) and 3 blocks in 23 minutes of play off of the bench. Most notably, Baynes racked up an eye-popping +21 on the plus/minus scale.
In this clip, Baynes turns defense into instant offense with a monster block. Instead of swatting the ball into the stands, he directs the shot into the hands of Marcus Smart, who finds Terry Rozier and ultimately Jaylen Brown for a rim-rocking slam.
It’s no secret that Brad Stevens missed the big Aussie in the past month. Baynes broke his hand in a mid-December matchup with the Phoenix Suns and has only recently returned to game action. He hit a momentum-shifting 3 pointer late against Toronto earlier this week and turned in a quality performance once more tonight.
