Say goodbye to the 2018 Boston Celtics, and hello to the rejuvenated team in green. Boston is a perfect 3-0 since the new year began. Here are three reasons why.

The Boston Celtics improved their January record to a perfect 3-0 following a 116-95 beatdown of the Brooklyn Nets Monday night. The new year may only be a splash over a week old, but the boys from Beantown have given the world plenty to be excited about moving forward.

The saying goes “It isn’t how you start, it’s how you finish.” The Celtics can erase all of the bad that has plagued the team to start the season with a strong finish in the second  half of the year. For starters, the group has a chance to get to 10 games above .500 when they welcome the red-hot Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night.

Despite all of their struggles, the team finds themselves a mere 2.5 games out of 3rd place in the East, and 4.5 behind the Milwaukee Bucks for the highly coveted 1st seed. Of the team’s 43 remaining matchups, eight will come against the three teams ahead of them in the standings.

Capitalize on those meetings, and it is certainly conceivable that the East will run through Boston come playoff time.

Based on what the team has shown to start the year, I will give three reasons whytitle-contendingnding version of the Celtics are finally back and here to stay.
