3 thoughts from Boston Celtics big win over Minnesota Timberwolves
By Mujeeb Ahmed
Gordon Hayward, once again, lights up the Timberwolves for a season-high and his best performance in the TD Garden.
Gordon Hayward had been in the middle of an extended slump but just like he did at the Target Center in Minnesota, he lit up the Timberwolves for 35 points for forgetting that he was once an All-Star level player in the league.
Hayward converted on multiple wide open looks from distance created by his teammates’ penetration into the paint by hitting 4 threes on 7 attempts. But the 3-point arc was far from the only place Gordon contributed. Gordon may still not have his explosive burst, but he showcased impeccable timing on his cuts where his teammates found him and he converted with on dunks and layups.

Often Gordon looks a bit tentative and lost on the court but tonight, he looked confident and in control. Gordon may not be able to regain his All-Star form at any point this season, but it’s clear that he still has the IQ to play the game at a high level and when he fully regains his confidence in himself – the Celtics will have a very dangerous weapon at their disposal.
The Boston Celtics will look to take advantage of a home-heavy schedule in January when they take on the electric rookie Luka Doncic and the visiting Dallas Mavericks this Friday at 8:00 pm EST.
