Hot as a Pistol

Through the first four games, the Celtics were statistically one of the worst shooting teams in the league from the field and from the three-point line. Then on Thursday, they shot 0-for-11 from deep in the first half in Oklahoma City.

Boston finally popped the lid off the hoop in the second half, burying 11 three-pointers in a 16-point comeback win over the Thunder. The Celtics continued their sweet shooting Saturday.

The Celtics made 14 three-pointers, matching the 14 they made in Toronto for the most in any game this season, even while Al Horford uncharacteristically missed all five of his three-point attempts.

Five players had at least two made three-pointers, as the road team spread around the love. Boston assisted on 25 of its 39 made field goals, and the ball-movement was noticeably better.

When the Celtics are shooting well from deep, it’s very difficult to guard them. Boston set the tone early by getting good looks each time down the floor, and found a rhythm offensively.

With all the talent on the floor, when everyone is touching the ball, the Celtics will overpower teams as they did Saturday in Detroit.
