The Rollercoaster Ride That Is Jayson Tatum:

Burgeoning superstar Jayson Tatum took charge in the first half and provided some much-needed scoring for the Celtics who simply couldn’t hit the side of a barn. Tatum took advantage of mismatch opportunities (perhaps too much) in the first half and kept the Celts afloat, he also detonated on the Thunder with a ferocious dunk in the first that got Celtics fans dreaming of a deja-vu comeback.

Tatum, however, succumbed to bad habits throughout the game, missing shooters in the half-court and in transition, and trading open looks from 3-point range for contested twos; this simply will not do in Stevens’ system. Tatum’s skid in the second half also led to him missing Alex Abrines for two key 3-pointers that kept the Thunder in the game when the momentum seemed to be shifting Boston’s way.

Much has been said about Tatum working out with his idol Kobe Bryant during the offseason, and Tatum channeled the worst parts of Bryant during tonight’s game, a trend which Celtics fans hope doesn’t continue.
