Boston Celtics Highlight: Jayson Tatum Posterizes Paul George with Monster Fast Break Jam
Jayson Tatum has gotten off to a fantastic start to the 2nd season of what is looking like a long and fruitful career. He currently leads his team in scoring (17.5ppg) through the team’s first week of play and is only getting better.
The Boston Celtics entered their matchup with the Oklahoma City Thunder sitting at 2-2, good for 7th place in the Eastern Conference. The defense hasn’t looked great, and the offense has been a complete mess.
But that didn’t stop 2nd year forward Jayson Tatum from delivering perhaps the highlight play of the night across the NBA.
Jay Smooth unleashed his inner Mamba all over Paul George in this posturing dunk to end the 1st quarter of play.

Boston struggled early but found a way to claw themselves back out of a 16 point 2nd half deficit to pull off the comeback. They defeated the Thunder 101-95.
Team Notes
Kyrie Irving struggled most of the night to locate the bottom of the net but came up big when it mattered the most. With just under a minute remaining, Irving drove hard to the rim and finished with a scoop layup to tie the game at 95 apiece. The Celtics would take the lead on their next possession, and not look back.
Jaylen Brown‘s struggles continued for the 3rd straight game. After scoring a measly 7 points on 2-9 shooting against New York, he answered with an even worse performance against the Magic, tallying just 5 points on an identical 209 shooting night. Just when you think it couldn’t get any worse, he finished tonight with 6 points on 1-8 shooting.
There is one man who has shown up to play to start the season, and his name is Jayson Tatum. Despite Boston tossing up enough bricks tonight to build a house, Tatum got himself into a nice rhythm, going 8-18 from the field for 24 points to lead all scorers. It’s quickly becoming clear that Tatum is starting to emerge as the heartbeat of this team.
Fresh off of their victory, the Celtics will travel to Detroit to take on the Pistons on Saturday night. Here’s to hoping this come from behind victory can get the team back on track!
