Here are some late first round draft picks that the Boston Celtics may be interested in
At the beginning of the season, Boston Celtics fans were salivating over the Class of 2018. With the Lakers pick looking like a potential winning lottery ticket, fans imagined what the Celtics of next season would like with another top draft pick aboard.
However, as the season has progressed the Lakers have shown an unfortunate amount of resolve during their campaign and now sit with the tenth worst record in the NBA. Since the Celtics need the Lakers to land a pick within the 2-5 range, the odds of Los Angeles falling behind five teams (many of whom are actively trying to tank) are slim.
While fans’ dreams of seeing DeAndre Ayton or Luka Doncic suiting up for Boston may have been dashed, the Celtics still have their own first round pick. The chances of landing an impact player towards the end of the first round are certainly less than the chances of landing one with a lottery pick, but the Celtics could still land the next OG Anunoby (23rd overall pick in 2017), Kyle Kuzma (27th overall) or Jordan Bell (38th overall).
Who are some of the projected late round picks this year? Here are five players Celtic fans should seek out as the college basketball season peaks this March.
