Sixth Man of (45% of the) Year: Terry Rozier

This one could have gone any number of directions, but with Smart taking home defensive POY, I decided to go with Rozier.

Rozier is averaging 8.7 PPG and 4.4 RPG in 23.3 minutes per game. Much of his work comes in the shadows of Boston’s stars.

The 6’2″ guard is sneaky athletic, which makes him deadly off the dribble, especially when he has fresh legs coming off the bench. His quick first step and explosiveness is joined by deceiving length that allows him to get to the hoop with ease. Issues can arise when it comes to finishing, but that’s not why we’re here.

Rozier shoots confidently off the catch-and-shoot, where his field goal percentage is just under 60%. He’s extremely useful in transition, as he’s often the first player out after a turnover thanks to the quickness discussed above.

On the defensive end, he fits the mold of a typical Celtics guard. Energetic and defensive minded, his on-ball defense gives Stevens a nice spark off the bench.

Rozier continues to improve and is a vitally important role player for this Celtics team. His minutes off the bench cannot be undervalued.

Next: Tatum needs to seerate himself on offense

Shoutouts

Daniel Theis, Al Horford, Aron Baynes, and that Tatum guy.
