Top Boston Celtics Scenarios Following the Sixers Trade
By Adam Miller
Welp, the Boston Celtics did it again. They turned the league upside down with a trade no one saw coming. The Celtics swapped their 1st overall pick for the Philadelphia 76ers 3rd overall pick, the Los Angeles Lakers protected pick (has to land 2-5) and if pick does not convey they receive the Sacramento Kings pick, which is also number one protected.
Danny Ainge went against what most Celtics fans wanted, Markelle Fultz. This website alone featured several articles which projected the point guard to be in green and white next season. Instead, he’ll most likely be suiting up in red, white and blue.
I have faith in Ainge and the front office though. Very rarely have they made a miscalculated trade. Actually, the last time they traded the #1 overall pick they received Robert Parish and the 3rd overall pick which they used to select Kevin McHale. So, I’d say that if history is to repeat itself the Celtics are in pretty good shape.
The question now becomes, what will the Celtics do with their assets. For years the Celtics have stocked up on draft picks and a roster full of quality players. So, will they make a trade, make the picks or do something else? Let’s dive into the possibilities.
DISCLAIMER: Danny Ainge is a wildcard, so don’t be surprised if he pulls something out that no one saw coming.
