A lot of the players on this Celtics team can make a big play whether it be offensively or defensively. People will watch the Celtics and say that Thomas is the only player who is able to close out games for Boston, and if you really watch the games, you’d see that it’s more than just Thomas closing out games for them. Smart is one who makes so many game winning plays, especially on the defensive end

Smart is the one name who instantly comes to mind when it comes to who makes so many game winning plays, especially on the defensive end. Without him, the Celtics most likely would’ve dropped a lot more games down the stretch. Smart is the definition of Celtics toughness. You can catch Smart diving for every loose ball and be playing his heart out every single game.

Players like Brown, Kelly Olynyk, and even Gerald Green have been able to make contributions off the bench down the stretch of a game and help take the pressure off of Thomas’ shoulders.
