1. Home Court

For the Boston Celtics, home court is very important to them as players like Jae Crowder, Avery Bradley, Marcus Smart, and especially Isaiah Thomas could all catch fire at any time. When the Celtics get hot shooting the ball, their defense seems to get even better as well. Being in the Garden makes it so much easier to get (and stay) hot. It’s actually not so farfetched to believe that the Celtics could take the first seed in the east, and that would be huge.

Boston is currently sitting 2.5 games back of the Cavs for the 1st-seed while having probably the easiest remaining schedule in the NBA. They only play 3 teams over .500 over the course of their last 14 games. Cleveland has a little bit tougher road to take if they want to hold onto the top spot in the East. The Cavaliers will have to play on the road to take on the Clippers, Spurs, and Celtics. Cleveland will also have to host the Wizards and Raptors at home.

Boston could realistically close the two game gap by the time they play the Cavaliers in April. If the Celtics can grab that 1st-seed in the East, it will be huge for them, especially if these two teams meet in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Garden is an electrifying place and it truly is one of the best home-court advantages in the NBA and will help the Celtics make a deep run in the postseason.
