No Penalty For Kevin Garnett
According to league sources, Kevin Garnett will not be penalized for spreading some Christmas cheer at the end of the Celtics 106-104 loss to the Knicks Christmas day. As the game ended, KG and former Celtic/teammate Bill Walker became entangled and had to be separated by a host of players and coaches. Garnett missed what would have been the game winner at the buzzer and appeared to be enraged over what Walker said to him following the failed shot attempt. When asked about what he said, Walker said “”I can’t get into that. We were in the heat of the [...]
Celtics Roster Moves Looming
Now that the preseason is over, yeah you missed it, the Celtics have to get down to business and square away the roster. The Celtics are already above the salary cap threshold, so any changes to the roster are going to need to come from within. From here on out, the Celtics can only sign players for the league minimum. For a place like Boston, attracting players to the Northeast is no easy task. The Celtics are expected to make a move as soon as tonight, but could wait until tomorrow to make any moves official. The main roster is [...]
Paul Pierce To Miss Start Of Season?
With each passing day and each passing missed practice, the Boston Celtics are in jeopardy of suffering yet another catastrophic blow to the roster. Captain Paul Pierce, who has been dealing with a sore heel, has only been able to participate in practice just once since camp opened. Granted, camp has been only open for a minute, but you get the point. Heel injuries are notorious for their slow recovery times and with the condensed 66-game schedule, Pierce could be in line to miss more games this season than your typical 82-game slate. Head coach Doc Rivers spoke about the [...]
Jeff Green To Miss The Entire Season
The Boston Celtics announced Saturday that reserve forward Jeff Green will miss the entire 2011-2012 season to have surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm. The news is far worse than anyone had imagined and sheds some light on why the Celtics delayed making an announcement until now. Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge said via a statement: “While we are saddened that Jeff will not be able to play this season, the most important thing is his health, and we were fortunate to have access to an amazing team of specialists to evaluate Jeff’s case, the entire Celtics family [...]
Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce Injury Updates
Head coach Doc Rivers took a few minutes yesterday after practice to provide an update on the health of stars Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce. “Paul will be out until around Monday. That’s what Eddie said, he thought he could possibly play [in Toronto], but why take the chance going from no practice to playing in an exhibition game. So, we’re probably going to leave him back. Rondo is going through stuff today, but I’m not going to let him go through anything live. For the open scrimmage tomorrow, we’ll see. Rondo may play Sunday, but I don’t know that.” [...]
Kevin Garnett’s Secret Burrito Recipe
Kevin Garnett channeled his inner Paul Dean in order to express his displeasure with the NBA’s condensed 66-game schedule. “Timing is everything.” Said KG “Chemistry is something that you don’t just throw in the frying pan and mix it up with another something, then throw it on top of something, then fry it up and put it in a tortilla and put in a microwave, heat it up and give it to you and expect it to taste good. You know? For those of you who can cook, y’all know what I’m talking about. If y’all can’t cook, this doesn’t [...]
Celtics Resign Marquis Daniels
The Boston Celtics brought back forward Marquis Daniels back for the third time this week. The move did not come as a surprise to many who follow the Celtics, but it sure is nice to have a player of Daniels’ caliber back in the fold. Daniels knows the system and can be a versatile player for Doc off the bench. After practice, Daniels spoke about how he had to work back from the scary spinal injury he suffered last year: Daniels was signed to a one-year contract at the veterans minimum. However, it was his trade at last year’s deadline [...]
Breaking Down The Schedule-Part 1
Part of the process of playing an abbreviated season means that all teams could of possibly played between 1-3 back-to-back-to-back game swings. When the scheduled was released, the Celtics were scheduled for this only once. Starting on April 13th, the Celtics will play at Toronto, at New Jersey and then at Charlotte on three consecutive nights. The Celtics will then have a night off before playing in New York on the 17th and then return home to host the Magic on the 18th. That is five games in six nights. A task that seems even worse when you consider that [...]

Chris Paul To The……
Each passing day brings us a new set of Chris Paul rumors. With all that is circulating, there seems to be the sense that the Hornets are intent on making a deal sooner rather than later. The last thing the Hornets want to do is drag this out the way the Nuggets saga played out last season with Carmelo Anthony. The Celtics are at least still in the mix, but at what cost? Trading Rajon Rondo for Chris Paul is a no brainer. The team is better with Paul at the point. However, the Celtics do not have the resourses [...]
