Celtics Will Extend Offer To Jeff Green
In a move long expected, Celtic president Danny Ainge announced that the Celtics will make a qualifying offer to restricted free agent Jeff Green. Said Ainge: “it will happen this week.” The move will allow the Celtics the right to match any offer made to Jeff Green. The Celtics will have until Thursday to make the move official. During his time with the Boston Celtics, Jeff Green averaged 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in just over 22 minutes played per game. In the playoffs, Green’s points per game production dipped slightly to 8.4 points, but he’ll be most remembered for [...]
Celtics Introduce JaJuan Johnson and E’Twaun Moore
The Boston Celtics used the K-8 Edison School in Brighton as the venue to introduce the newest Celtics to the local media. The Celtics recently donated 25 “Celtics” MacBooks to the school and used today as an opportunity to show off the new mobile tech lab and their two most recent draft picks JaJuan Johnson and E’Twaun Moore. Said Moore: ”It’s great, any time you do something in the community, for them to see us and us to meet them, welcome us to their community is definitely exciting.” Johnson, who wore #25 in college, chose #12 to honor the number his [...]
LeBron James Jokes……Remix
The Houdini is keeping the LeBron joke train rolling full steam ahead. The responses have been overwhelming and this is the only way Boston fans can cope with losing to the Heat in the playoffs. As always, be sure to take your talents to the comments section and let us know what you think. Note: Let’s keep the jokes somewhat clean, my mother reads this blog or at least claims she does. If Lebron wanted a ring, he should have stayed in Cleveland and bought one from Terrelle Pryor.
Danny Ainge Recaps The 2011 NBA Draft
Danny Ainge took a moment to discuss the Celtics and their 2011 NBA draft class. Ainge called the drafting of two players from the same school a pure coincidence as they happened to be the two best players available at their respective slots. As I look back at the draft I tend to like the picks more and more. In JaJuan Johnson, you get a versatile big man that can run the floor, play defense and hit a mid-range jumper. In E’Twuan Moore, you get a versatile guard that does just about everything well enough to pick the C’s up [...]
Boston Celtics Draft Recap
Apparently, there is a two-drink minimum when selecting players out of the Big 10. The Celtics double dipped and ordered two Boilermakers. With the 27th selection in the first round, the Celtics took 6-10 senior power forward JaJuan Johnson from Purdue. With the 25th (55th) selection in the second round, the Celtics took 6-4 senior shooting guard E’Twuan Moore, also from Purdue during the annual NBA draft on Thursday night. Technically, the Celtics selected Providence College guard Marshon Brooks with the 25th overall selection. In a draft-day trade, the Celtics sent Brooks to the New Jersey Nets in return for [...]
2011 NBA Mock Draft
The NBA draft is about 24 hours away and we once again find ourselves trying to figure out how the chips will fall. In typical NBA fashion, this seems to be a year where many trades will be made leading up to and during the draft. With some much uncertainty after the top two and a looming labor dispute, teams may look to shed some contracts. Once we get past Irving and Williams, the draft is wide open and could go in just about any direction. Cleveland seems to be staying put at the top and 4th spot. San Antonio [...]
Congrats To The Boston Bruins
Was truly wonderful to see the Celtics TD Garden roommates take home the Stanley Cup last night winning the series in seven games over the Vancouver Canucks. While it would have been awesome for the Celtics to have won their 18th banner a week earlier, we take pride knowing that we live in the greatest sports city in America. Having seen all four major teams winning a championship within the last 7 years, a sports fan cannot dream of a better place to call home. Said Celtic captain Paul Pierce via twitter: “Congratulations to the Boston Bruins Stanley Cup Champions [...]
LeBron James Jokes
In keeping with the theme of hating on the Miami Heat for ending the season for the Boston Celtics, the Houdini has decided to collect the best LeBron James jokes flying around the interwebs for your reading pleasure. Please post any additional jokes in the comment section for all to enjoy. Note: Let’s keep the jokes somewhat clean, my mother reads this blog or at least claims she does. LeBron will publish his autobiography as soon as he can come up with a title. Matisyahu is not the only king without a crown LeBron just announced he’ll play in the [...]
How About Them Mavericks?
The Dallas Mavericks are on the verge of doing the impossible. Up three games to two, the Mavericks are on the doorstep of the NBA promise land. As a Celtics fan, you want to make sure the team that ends your season gets the same treatment at some point during the latter rounds of the NBA playoffs. With such a tall task at hand, considering that the Heat’s version of the Big Three were inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame when they signed last summer, the Mavericks have to push aside the demons that have haunted them for the [...]
Big Baby Loses To The Big Busboy
Celtic power forward Glen “Big Baby” Davis took to the Jimmy Kimmel show to showcase his shooting abilities and of course did not disappoint. Facing off against Ricardo the busboy, Glen Davis had no chance of winning. Ricardo had already beaten LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and Charles Barkley on his way to youtube fame. Whilst we appreciate the spaghetti and pancakes reference, Celtics fans are still trying to forget about Big Baby’s inability to make the shots that count.
