2020-21 has been a tough year for Boston Celtics fans. Being unable to attend their team’s home games for the first portion of the season while seeing the very virus responsible for that take out several key Cs has made this season a hellscape, to put it bluntly.

Frustrations from an underwhelming free-agent haul have been haunting, as has Gordon Hayward’s career-year in Charlotte. I have eaten my words for that, as fans have shown me the receipts on Twitter for my past pieces about GH:

…yes, even though I posted about Auburn University’s baseball team.

I respect the passion, though, and it’s that same passion Boston fans exude that is making this season sting extra hard. The once-mighty franchise, winners of nine of the ten championships in the 1960s, is now sitting below the New York Knicks in the standings.
