O-Town triangle

This deal is a big one, bringing in Mo Bamba, Derrick White, Dejounte Murray, and Mo Bamba to Boston. The Magic would get the expiring contracts of DeMar DeRozan, Daniel Theis, and Vincent Poirier while taking on Carsen Edward’s final three guaranteed years while the San Antonio Spurs would acquire Gordon Hayward, Evan Fournier, and three first-round picks.

Why the Boston Celtics do it

The price to pay is steep, but the payout is severe for the Boston Celtics. They lose Gordon Hayward and three first-round picks, but their entire bench is rebuilt. Dejounte Murray, Derrick White, Terrence Ross and Mo Bamba would all start on any other team.

Why the San Antonio Spurs do it

Missing the playoffs should call for massive changes for a franchise like the San Antonio Spurs. Few responses would signal a shift in direction like bringing on a talent like Hayward…while also supplementing the lineup with Evan Fournier’s shooting and three future first-round picks.

Why the Orlando Magic do it

The Magic have made the playoffs the last two seasons, but the idea of a reshuffle should be welcomed. DeMar DeRozan would be the new focal point to the offense while Daniel Theis could replace Mo Bamba’s bench minutes at the center spot.
