No. 1) The reintegration of Robert Williams III into the rotation

After missing four months this season due to a left hip bone edema, sophomore big man Robert Williams finally made his return to the hardwood in March, suiting up for four games only to be sidelined for another four months due to the league’s COVID-19 induced hiatus.

Though he has been injury-riddled since coming into the league back in 2018, there is an unbelievable amount of promise the 22-year-old seems to possess, which makes virtually every Cs fan giddy about what the future may have in store for Williams.

However, before we get a better understanding of how his future may play out, we must see how he performs in the present and, more specifically, during the upcoming Disney bubble.

According to recent reports, the man referred to as “Time Lord” feels as though he’s gotten more acclimated to the speed of the game post-recovery, and many of his teammates seem to be under the same impression as well.

"“I actually feel like I got a little bit quicker, a little bit faster,” Williams said. “But like I said, being out those three, three-and-a-half months, it gave my body time to heal. I got some good treatment, some good work in, and I’m ready to prove it on the court.”"

A 100% Robert Williams could mean big things for this Boston Celtics squad as time goes by. Through 23 games, the big has put up 4.3 points, 4.7 boards, 1.2 blocks, and just shy of a steal per game on 68 percent shooting from the field.

Leading the team in defensive box plus/ minus (4.4), blocks percentage (8.0), and steals percentage (3.0), the second-year pro easily has proven to have the tools necessary to be the C’s best interior defender. Add in his crazy athleticism/ bounce, and his reliability in the pick & roll (averaged 1.21 points per possession), and Williams has the skill set necessary to be both a real difference-maker in this year’s postseason as well as a long term fixture at the five for Boston, should he remain healthy moving forward.

We’ll find out if this hype has some semblance of truth once the team hops back into the swing of things come July 31st.
