Rajon Rondo missed his seventh straight game Tuesday when he sat out the Celtics game in Cleveland.

Rondo has been out since January 18th when he injured his right wrist. Tests have come back negative and according to team sources, Rondo is close to returning.

The Celtics are back home Wednesday night to host the Raptors as part of their five-game home stand, but a return Friday night against the Knicks seems more likely.

The Celtics are 4-2 without their star point guard.

In 13 games played this season, Rondo has averaged 15 points, 9.4 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game.

Rajon Rondo will miss his second consecutive game today when he sits out the Celtics’ afternoon tilt against the Washington Wizards.

Rondo injured himself Wednesday against the Raptors, MRI results were negative. An official timetable for his return has not yet been set making his status for tomorrow’s game against the Magic uncertain.

Avery Bradley and E’Twaun Moore will share the point guard duties. Bradley had a decent showing against the Suns on Friday, but was terribly inconsistent at times.

As expected, Keyon Dooling and Chris Wilcox will also miss today’s game.
