Word from Celtics camp is that injured center Shaquille O’Neal will make his return to game action on Wednesday night when the Los Angeles Clippers and “The Blake Show” come to the TD Bank North Garden to face off against the Boston Celtics.

Shaq has been sidelined since February 1st with an achilles injury and has been lobbying for a return to game action this weekend. The Celtics have decided to keep Shaq out allowing him to practice a few more times and to avoid traveling to Milwaukee for Sunday night’s game against the Bucks.

Seems like we have been here a time or two with Shaq and the timetable eventually gets pushed back. The Celtics need Shaq to be at 100% in order to provide them with the inside help they desperately need at the moment. Shaq will help the Celtics most by playing 15-20 minutes per game whilst rebounding and creating a fearsome inside presence.

Well, the dust has settled on what was originally thought to be a pretty slow trade deadline for the Boston Celtics. We woke up and were constantly reminded about how the Celtics did not really have many tradeable chips to play. Enter Celtic president of operations Danny Ainge and today goes down as one of the busiest NBA trade deadline days in recent memory.

To Recap:

Trade #1. Celtics send center Kendrick Perkins and guard Nate Robinson to the Thunder for a 2012 first round draft pick (Clippers), forward Jeff Green and center Nenad Krstic.

Trade #2. Celtics send forward Luke Harangody and center Semih Erden to the Cavaliers for a second round draft pick.

Trade #3. Celtics send guard/forward Marquis Daniels to the Sacramento Kings for Cash.

What do you think? Was all of this worth it? Who is going to play against the Nuggets tonight?

CSNNE.com is reporting that starting Celtic center Kendrick Perkins could be sidelined for at least the next three games with a strained MCL in his right knee. Perkins, who missed 43 games this season after injuring his left knee last season, was making a nice contribution to the club averaging 7.3 points and 8.1 rebounds per game whilst providing the C’s with the legitimate inside presenace they desperately needed.

With the injury to Perkins, Semih Erden remains the only healthy true center on the roster and will have to hold his own until Perk is able to return sometime next week.

The Celtics continue their annual “Disney on Ice” February road trip with stops in Denver tonight, LA (Clippers) on Saturday and finish up against the Deron Williamsless Utah Jazz on Monday.
