According to Sherrod Blakely of CSN, Rajon Rondo is going to get a second opinion on his ACL by none other than Dr. James Andrews.

Andrews is the same doctor that performed the ACL surgery of Adrian Peterson and Robert Griffin, III as well. Andrews is a respected surgeon across all sports and is leaned on by a lot of teams and players. He’s worked with Michael Jordan, Charles Barkely, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and many other successful athletes.

Andrew’s surgery and methodology always seems to work well on athletes. Maybe that’s because of the Stem Cell technology that Andrews uses in his procedures. Adrian Peterson came only two yards shy of breaking the NFL’s rushing record after tearing his ACL on Christmas Day the year before. He made it back to the NFL for the start of the season and took off from there.

Drew Brees is one of the most successful NFL quarterbacks of all time after it was widely thought that he wasn’t going to be effective ever again after tearing his rotator cuff. He just broke Johnny Unitas’ consecutive game touchdown record this past season.

Rondo is going to be examined by Dr. Andrews in a few days after the swelling goes down in his ACL. Hopefully a positive development comes from this.
