]]> The Dallas Mavericks are on the verge of doing the impossible. Up three games to two, the Mavericks are on the doorstep of  the NBA promise land. As a Celtics fan, you want to make sure the team that ends your season gets the same treatment at some point during the latter rounds of the NBA playoffs. With such a tall task at hand, considering that the Heat’s version of the Big Three were inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame when they signed last summer, the Mavericks have to push aside the demons that have haunted them for the life of their franchise.

As we inch closer and closer to game time, a host of outstanding questions have been on the fore front of every NBA fan’s agenda: Can the Mavs seal the deal, will the referees become huge Miami Heat fans as the were in 2006, will someone else from the Orlando Magic “seal the deal” with Lebron’s girlfriend?

These are the type of hard hitting questions that keep the Houdini up at night.

Houdini Says: The Dallas Mavericks will win tonight by a score of 99-92. Bing, bang, boom.

No, really. For the first time in a long time, the Boston Celtics were able to practice with all 15 players on the roster on the eve of their game three matchup against the Miami LeBrons. Word has been increasing that injured center Shaquille O’Neal will make his return to the Celtics lineup. This has been a long running joke that has dogged the Celtics for months. Will he/Won’t he has been the pre-game rallying cry fans have been shouting for weeks. Well, looks like Saturday we’ll get our wish and it could not have come at a moment too soon. All will be forgotten if Shaq steps in and asserts his dominance. Nothing says “I love you” to Boston fans like double digit rebounds.

Shaq is and can be capable of being the difference in this series. The Miami Heat have no answer for an inside presence let alone one of the greatest NBA players of all time. A lot, as usual, will ride on Shaq’s soreness level when he wakes up on Saturday morning. Shaq has to return, if the Celtics lose game three, there will be no game five. The Heat looked like they figured it out in game two and the rest of the basketball world should begin to worry. I am not going to say the Heat are not a flawed team, but who cares about flaws when you have Lebron James and Dwayne Wade scoring at will and some guy named Chris Bosh looking like a decent NBA player.

At times, we tend to view the games as the most important aspect of our daily lives, but they are really not. There are far more important things going on and it is a refreshing change of pace to see fans and players come together as one showing support for our country. Well done.
