Today marks the first day of Celtics training camp. Yesterday, however, was the team’s annual Media Day, which basically functions the same as school picture day, but with interviews with the media throughout the day.

5 Best Moments of Media Day

1. James Young trying to get Jordan Mickey to dance is must-watch TV. The best part, of course is Mickey straight-up refusing initially; probably thinking how – even though he’s a rookie – he’s still older than Young.

P.S. Smart’s “nae nae” was fire.

2. Jae Crowder‘s take on being called “Bae” (‘before-anyone-else’, for those equally illiterate in slang as me). I don’t believe him when he says he’s never heard of people calling him that. It’s literally all over Twitter.

Love this:

"Crowder: (his thoughts on people calling him “bae”) So a lot of people have crushes on me?Interviewer: ApparentlyCrowder: Men and women?Interviewer: Absolutely.Crowder: Right on!"

3. Jared Sullinger and Marcus Smart rocking the Odell Beckham Jr. haircut. David Lee would later say which one he thinks looked better, but come on, we all know who.

4. Whatever this is:

5. Amir Johnson offering to bring pizza to the media.

Worst Moment of Media Day

Jared Sullinger revealing to the media that his friends, family and agent staged an intervention for him. They procured the help of former (disgraced) number-one pick, turned motivational coach, John Lucas, to train Sullinger this summer.

According to ESPN’s Chris Forsberg:

"… For two weeks in June, two weeks in July, much of August, and the past three weeks in September, Sullinger trekked to Houston where he submitted to Lucas’ demands, including a regimented diet. His workouts included a two-week stretch in which he never picked up a basketball, but engaged in other sports with the goal of moving him outside his comfort zone."

Well at least it appears Sullinger’s aware of his problem and received the necessary kick-in-the-butt this summer.
