Yes all you Celtics haters out there(I’m talking to you Heat and Lakers fans), the Boston Celtics are in a position to not only make the NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs, but also have a chance at taking on LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2-7 matchup in the first round!

And I like that matchup: history tell us that when the Celtics and LeBron’s Cavs take on each other, the Celtics are 2-0.  They have also been exciting series as well: Celtics taking LeBron to seven games in 2008 and six games in 2010.

There are still four games left in this whirlwind season, but with recent losses from the Brooklyn Nets and the Miami Heat, I feel a lot more comfortable now that our Celtics control their own destiny to the playoffs.  So, baring a ridiculous fall in the next four games, what has been the biggest reason why the Celtics have been on this roll after the All-Star break?  What major transaction went down?

It was the acquisition of Isaiah Thomas! Thomas has been a leader for our Celtics both on and off the court, and IMO is the clear favorite for the NBA’s Sixth Man Of The Year Award.
