Paul Pierce will sit out tonight against the Cleveland Cavaliers because of an ankle injury suffered against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday’s playoff clinching win. The Boston Celtics’ twitter account tweeted the news moments ago.

It’ll be interesting to see if Pierce doesn’t sit the rest of this season out. With Kevin Garnett already out because of an issue with his ankle/foot, it wouldn’t make much sense for Pierce to try to play as well. They’ve already clinched their playoff spot and the Milwaukee Bucks have a tough road ahead of them. With the Celtics’ remaining schedule, it wouldn’t surprise me if Pierce and Garnett didn’t play until the playoffs.
