Hardwood Houdini is looking for a few writers to join the team. If you’re interested in becoming a contributor on Hardwood Houdini, here’s what to do: Write a 500-1500 word article about the Boston Celtics, the post can be about anything Celtics related, but should represent your best work and be fully edited. Email your article to hardwoodhoudini14@gmail.com. Please put “Hardwood Houdini Contributor Article” in the subject line. This should be obvious, but there shouldn’t be any profanity. A “hell”, a “damn” – no problem. If they can say it on the radio, you can say it here. Strong opinions [...]

Doc Rivers Close To Signing A Multi-Year Deal

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

A source close to the negotiations informed the Associated Press that the Boston Celtics and head coach Doc Rivers are working on a deal for “more than two or three years.” Rivers, who was under contract through this season, expressed his desire to return to Boston following last night’s game citing unfinished business with the Big Three. Said head coach Doc Rivers: “I haven’t made that decision, but I can tell you I probably will, I’m a Celtic and I love our guys. I want to win again here, and I’m competitive as hell. I have a competitive group, so [...]

Dealing With The Celtics Loss

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

So the Celtics lose and you find yourself moping around the house replaying the series over and over again in your head. I mean, come on now, the Celtics had more than their fair share of opportunities to put the Heat away and simply could not get it done. I was starting to come around on Jeff Grreen (HE IS SUCH A GREAT ATHLETE) until he had two turnovers late in game five helping seal the victory for that team in Miami. So what do we do now? At least football training camp will start soon. Wait, at least the [...]

Shaquille O’Neal To Miss Game 5

AUTHOR: | IN: Boston Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

Turn out the lights, the party’s over. Injured Celtic center Shaquille O’Neal has likely played his last game in the NBA. Shaq will sit out game five and beyond as he has been unable to overcome the injury suffered to his calf in early February. What seemed like a routine calf sprain has essentially derailed the Celtics season with so much riding on the big fella. From playing time to possibly not even making the Perkins trade, the fate of a season rested heavily on a player only expected to play 15-20 minutes a game. A sad ending to one [...]

The Celtics Will Win Game 4

AUTHOR: | IN: Boston Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

Simulation time again, I did what every passionate Celtics fan should have done and took to the powers of NBA JAM for the iphone to find out who was going to win game 4 tonight between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics. And you know what? The Celtics Win!!!!!! I was nervous throughout the process as our previous simulation correctly predicted that the Miami Heat would win game 2 and of course they did. My apologies to Celtics fans everywhere for altering the course of the universe due to fat fingering the controls on an onscreen keyboard. Well, this [...]

Udonis Haslem Ready To Go In Game 4

AUTHOR: | IN: Celtics | COMMENTS: None Yet

After sitting out essentially the entire NBA season, Miami Heat big man Udonis Haslem is ready to make a comeback. After going back and forth the last couple of weeks, Haslem appears ready to give it a go against the Boston Celtics tonight in game 4. So what does this mean? Well, on paper this is huge for the Heat as Haslem is arguably their best role player capable of hitting the boards and bolstering a weak Miami front court. In reality, he has not played since undergoing foot surgery in early November. The rust will be inevitable, however, the [...]
