No Shaquille O’Neal-Without Shaq the Celtics have no inside presence to combat the Knicks and their lack of an inside presence. Shaq has been ruled out for at least game 1 and we’ll have to wait and see on the rest of the series. Jermaine O’Neal and Nenad Krstic will look to fill the void in the middle. Team defense-The Celtics led the NBA giving up only 91.13 points per game on the season. A fete that may be hard to duplicate at this stage in the season, however, a team that thinks of defense first may have enough left in the tank to shut down one of the more prolific scoring offenses in the league. The NBA has scheduled game 1, of  the opening round match-up, between the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics for Sunday at 7 p.m. The game will be a home game for the Celtics and will be broadcast on TNT. The rest of the schedule will be released at a later date.  This just got real.

News out of the NBA is that Celtics guard Rajon Rondo has the third highest selling jersey in the entire NBA.  Somewhat surprising considering the collection of Hall of Famers that make up the 2010-2011 Boston Celtics. The Celtics took the road less traveled and conceded the second seed in the Eastern Conference to the Miami Heat. A win by the Heat, on Monday over the Atlanta Hawks, combined with a Celtics loss in Washington locked up the seeding for these two clubs on a collision course heading into the post season.
