Kevin Durant left Wednesday’s game against the Indiana Pacers with an ankle injury and is expected to miss at least the next game. After being helped to the locker room, Durant was seen wearing a walking boot and said after the game: “Just a little tweak, I did it before. Just gotta see how I feel in the morning.”
You be the judge, the injury looks pretty severe and could not have come at a worst time. The Thunder are in the home stretch of a playoff push and are clinging to the 4th seed. A lengthy Durant absence, with his NBA leading 28 points per game, is hard to recover from. At 37-22, the Thunder trail the Lakers by three games, and lead the Nuggets by four.
The Thunder next play Friday night versus the Atlanta Hawks, James Harden will likely start in Durant’s place should he not be able to go.
